I have a B.A in history education from SUNY New Paltz and a Masters in Education from the University of Bridgeport, in CT. I taught history for 24 years in Connecticut, 8 years in Bridgeport and 16 years in Weston. I am a published journalist and have written for the NY Times, the Connecticut Post, Connecticut Magazine, The Deerfield Valley News and various publications and newsletters. I attended the Middlebury College summer Writer’s Institute as well as the University of Iowa Writer’s Institute. I maintain my own travel website, called and have written a number of travelogues for it. I have attended summer educator workshops funded by the Gilder-Lehrman American History Institute at the University of Colorado and the University of Maryland. I have also attended a workshop funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Institute in Colorado to learn about Native American cultures. After attending a Project Archaeology symposium at Montana State, I became a coordinator for the state of Connecticut.
