Janet Goldstein

B.A. Psychology, Lyndon State College, VT
Mediation Certificate, Woodbury College, Montpelier, VT
Nonprofit Management Masters Certificate

I earned my BA in Psychology from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont in 1991 and began my teaching career at Mount Snow Academy in 1999. At MSA, my responsibilities include teaching AP Psychology, Intro. to Psychology and Music classes. I am also apart of a certified therapy dog/handler team with my standard poodle, Frankie. We are certified by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. We volunteer here at MSA as well as area hospitals. Giving back to my community is very important to me so I serve on two boards for the town of Putney:  The Public Safety Committee and the Animal Advisory Board. When I am not here at MSA teaching you can find me training dogs and their people in my business Wet Nose Dog Training. I am also a Band Tutor and work with children to keep their school band experience moving forward when they are not in school.

I am a lifelong artist and musician and live in Putney, VT. When I’m not working, I can be found playing acoustic bass in my band, Bourbon Shuffle, or my old-time banjo at area contra dances and jams. I enjoy donating jewelry and artwork to MSA’s annual fundraising events.

“Even though I have an hour commute to and from the mountain, I love the kids and the camaraderie between the teachers. I love when I am explaining a new concept to a student and they begin to really get it. I know I have done my job well that day.”

Frankie’s Bio

Along with my handler, Janet Goldstein, I earned my therapy dog certification from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. I am a 4 year old standard poodle who enjoys hiking, chasing balls, and spreading the poodle love here at MSA as well as in area hospitals. I love it when I’ve made a visit to someone and they are happier when I leave.
