I have lived in Vermont since 1970 when I attended Windham College in Putney. After receiving my Master’s Degree from Keene State College, I moved to Rhode Island to begin my college teaching career. I was an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University for two years when I was offered a full-time position at Johnson and Wales University at the main campus in Providence, Rhode Island. During my ten years at JWU I taught a variety of courses in the Freshman Studies and Social Sciences Departments. I also served as Director of Writing Across the Curriculum, a University-wide program aimed at strengthening students’ writing skills. In this position I was responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring this program for the Providence campus, along with serving as a consultant for the campuses in Norfolk, Virginia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Miami, Florida.
Upon my return to Vermont in 1998 I was happy to to join the staff of MSA and enjoy the relationship that the one-one-one format encourages. In addition to teaching at the Academy, I have been an adjunct professor at the Community College of VT, River Valley Community College, and Keene State College in NH. More recently I have focused my teaching on MSA.
When I am not teaching I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with my golden retriever, and acting as caregiver for my Mom who is 96 years old.
